We’ve been studying snow leopards in Mongolia’s Tost Mountains for almost 17 years. In that time, we’ve gotten to know many individual cats from our collaring study. Physical features and quirky behaviors quickly become personality traits that we impart on these snow leopards. While we are strong believers in rigorous science, a little anthropomorphizing now and then helps us connect to the wild and demystify complex ecology.
