After spending most of the past two weeks in the eastern part of the Toson Bumba Mountains, Itgel (orange) has moved nearly 15 km west, back towards the site where he was radio-collared. Saikhan (green) is continuing his eastward movement in the Tost Mountains, while Shonkhor (purple) has made repeated ~20 km movements back and forth across his home range. Aztai (yellow), who still holds the record for the farthest distance traveled of any of our collared cats (~120 km roundtrip in 18 days), appears to have given up his wandering ways. He continues to prowl the canyons and ridgelines in the immediate vicinity of camp.
This is just so cool. I can imagine these magnificent cats prowling the landscape.
