UPDATE: You've Helped Snow Leopards Get a $40,000 Match!

UPDATE 12/1/15, 1pm PST: You’ve helped unlock the biggest matching donation ever pledged for snow leopards!

A group of donors has challenged us to raise $40,000 for snow leopard conservation today, December 1, for  #GivingTuesday. If – but only if – we managed to do so, they’d match those $40,000 dollar for dollar!

Our generous supporters have risen to the challenge! In 24 hours, you’ve donated a total of more than $60,000! Thank you so much!

With the $40,000 match,  a total of over $100,000 will go toward conservation projects that help end illegal snow leopard hunting!

Giving Tuesday may be over, but you can of course still make a gift to help protect these endangered cats. Please make a donation for snow leopards now and help make a difference.

Fact: Kyrgyzstan has lost 40% of its snow leopards in just 25 years! If we do nothing, these cats could disappear altogether. But with your help, we can stop this trend!

  • Help us start a new 200 sq km anti-hunting wildlife reserve in Kyrgyzstan. A donation of $1000 can help support one ranger to patrol the reserve for an entire year.
  • Families in our Snow Leopard Enterprises handicraft program pledge not to hunt snow leopards–and not to provide room or board to illegal hunters coming into their area. Help us expand this program. $500 helps start 2 new families.
  • Help support our new ‘ranger rewards’ program that rewards rangers and community members in Kyrgyzstan for apprehending illegal hunters. $100 supports one reward.
  • Join SLT and Interpol to train rangers in Kyrgyzstan on better wildlife law enforcement. $50 gift purchases a basic crime-scene kit for a ranger to use in the field.

You can give online, by phone (206-632-2421) through the mail, or even in person at our office in Seattle.
Snow Leopard Adoptions also count, so if you’re planning to adopt a snow leopard as a Holiday gift to a loved one, December 1 would be the perfect time to do so, because your gift will literally be doubled!
