2014's Best Snow Leopard Photos

Thanks to a growing number of research cameras, our scientists are gaining more and more insights into the elusive snow leopard’s hidden life in the remote mountains. Here are some of the best photos they managed to take in 2014!

  7. I collect Snow Leopard photos, artwork, etc., to display in my home. Early 2014 I spoke to a member of your staff about the possibility of a book featuring a compilation of work by your various photographers. Was told such a book was in the works. Is this project still going forward? Am such I am not the only fan who would like to own such a book.

  10. I love the photos. I have a painting of a snow leopard that was done off of a picture from the artist’s daughter. She snapped a picture in Nepal and gave him the picture and he painted it…and I have the painting. They are such beautiful cats. Thank you for sharing these lovely and shy creatures.

  11. Absolutely stunning photos. I was not aware that the snow leopard has such a wide spread habitat – Ladakh ( India), China, Mongolia, Kyrgizistan . Long live the lovely wild cat

  12. It is such an elusive animal. Hundreds of thousands visit Ladakh each year , but never spot a snow leopard in the wild. The only one I have seen was in the Nainital High Altitude Zoo.
