Calling all creative knitters!
The Snow Leopard Trust is having a sock pattern contest that starts July 20th, and we want to see your socks! We are looking for the perfect sock pattern to use with the camel wool yarn we make through Snow Leopard Enterprises. We are offering an awesome prize package to the very best submission, and to the runner-up!
- Anyone can submit a pattern
- The sock design must be an original, and at the beginner to intermediate knitting level
- The entrant must use our camel wool yarn (use the coupon code SOCKS2012 for 20% off!)
- We must receive one sock or a pair, along with a written pattern and your contact information before October 1st
- You could be credited with the creation of the Snow Leopard Trust’s sock pattern forever
- You could win an awesome prize package that includes the Peace Fibers book, Theo Chocolates 6 bar gift set, 4 free skeins of your favorite color yarn, and so much more! (There is a prize package for the runner-up as well, for more details click here.)

Hi,
I read about your contest on the ravelry Designer group. Many of us were wondering who retains the rights to patterns that are submitted? What happens to the work of those who are not chosen?
Thank you for your response,
Ash
Thank you so much for your interest in our sock competition! I will make some modifications to the Ravelry post so that these questions are clearly answered.
The designers of the winning patterns will retain the rights to the patterns, although the Snow Leopard Trust will have the right to market the pattern on our website or in any other way that supports the cause of snow leopard conservation. The designers will always be credited whenever we use or promote the pattern.
The Snow Leopard Trust will have no rights to use any of the non-winning patterns that are submitted unless permission is obtained from the designer.
Warm wishes from the snow leopards 🙂
When will submitted socks be returned to the designers? Who is paying for return shipping? Or is the Snow Leopard Trust planning on keeping all submissions?
Thank you for any further answers,
Elise
Hi Elise, thanks for asking about the sock contest! We will be sending back the submitted socks to the designers at the end of October, and the Trust will cover the cost of the return shipping.
