We are thrilled to report that we met our fundraising goal this spring! Over a thousand people participated to make this fundraiser a success, and we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who took action to protect the endangered snow leopard.
Every dollar raised will go to support programs in place throughout Central Asia and help protect snow leopards just like “Individual A”, or as she is now named- Tara.
Tara’s name was chosen by our lucky raffle winner, Meher Toorkey, and is the name of a Buddhist Goddess as well as the word for ‘Star’ in Hindi. “May she and her young ones shine on and continue their tribe in the mountains!” Writes Meher, and we couldn’t agree more!
Wonderful name for an amazing cat. Let Tara and her cubs continue to thrive in the mountainous wilderness they call their home.
Thank you for naming this beautiful creature Tara. I lost my wonderful grey persian also Tara 3 weeks ago and there is ahuge hole in my heart. Maybe her spirit is living on in your Tara named after the tear that fell from the eye of Avolokiteshvara (Chenrezig) the origin of Tara.May her heart continue to be free in her wilderness home.
